English 9- Today we reviewed vocab for the quiz on FRIDAY!  We then looked at some guiding questions for chapter one of To Kill a Mockingbird and we starter reading chapter one identifying setting and important characters, Here are the vocab words with definitions:


Vexation- something that causes annoyance or distress.
Dispensation- special permission to not have to follow a rule or to not be bound by a particular code of behavior.
Expounding- explaining in greater or further detail
Iniquities- sins or wrong-doings
Disapprobation- to disapprove or condemn something
Auspicious-a situation that is positive or indicative of good things to come
Scuppernongs- a vine that bears grapes in the south
Tacit-understood or implied without being openly said or shown
Benevolence-a kind act or gift or the doing of kind things for others

Kudzu- an Asian fibrous plant that is rampant in the southern U.S. 


English 10- We watched a video presenting differing viewpoints on assisted suicide. We continued annotating the Jack Kevorkian article. This article will be due (annotations and questions) by Friday.
