Quarter 3 Historical Research Project
General Information: Students will choose a book that we have studied this year and create their own research writing prompt. The prompt must connect a theme or themes from the text to a period of historical significance in the text.

Week 1 (February 6-9): Develop prompt and begin finding sources. Your main focus should be creating a prompt and completing initial research. Consider if there is enough credible information out there to complete the prompt. Your prompt needs to be approved by Mr. Wells by the end of class 2/9.

Week 2 (February 13-17): Find three quality sources and begin crafting outline. Students will need to find and evaluate three quality sources for their paper. These evaluations must be turned in to Mr. Wells by the end of class on 2/17 and then students will receive an outline to complete.

Week 3 (February 21-24): Finish outline and first draft. During this week, students must finish their outline and have it approved by Mr. Wells. Then, they must craft their outline into a first draft of writing. First draft must be completed by 2/24.
