English 9: Students attended a showing of Romeo and Juliet.

Home work: Complete the chapter 1-6 author's craft sheet before class on Monday.

English 10: Today we worked on outlines and drafting for the essay due on Friday. Outlines were due today by the end of class.

Home work: If I did not see your outline today, I will accept it tomorrow for partial credit. Also, the final copy of your essay for Lord of The Flies is due today.


English 9: Today we took a quiz over chapter 3. Students then read independently through chapter 5.

English 10: Today we worked on the outline for the Lord of The Flies essay. The outline is due by the end of class tomorrow. See me immediately if you were absent to get an outline.


English 9: Today we reviewed topics in Anthem. We then finished reading chapter 2. 

HOME WORK: Finish chapter two questions and read chapter 3. 

Here are the chapter 2 questions:

1. How are men and women allowed to interact? How often do the men get to see the women?
2. We know that Equality is a street sweeper. Who is he allowed to interact with and when?
3. What relationship does Equality have with his parents? 
4. Equality meets a new person in this chapter. Who is this person? What is their name? How old are they?

5. Equality is beginning to feel something that is considered a sin. What is he feeling and hypothesize why he is feeling that way.
6. Equality mentions a place that he is not allowed to go, but he is intrigued by it. What is that place called? Hypothesize why it is off limits.
7. There is an “unspeakable word” that Equality talks about. In the story he explains the punishment for using this word. What is the punishment?

English 9- Today I gave students time in class to finish the chapter 1 questions for Anthem. We then reviewed and started reading chapter 2.

English 10- Today we worked on the on-line article about Lord of the Flies on actively learn. We also went over the LOTF writing prompt so students could start brainstorming:
