English 10- Today we did a fiction writing piece in journals to prepare for topics and themes in The Lord of The Flies. Students began working with a partner on developing a survival guide. This will help give context to the perilous situation that the characters in the novel face. Here are the directions:

Survival Guide

Directions: You and your partner are going to create a survival guide that you could provide to your stranded classmates. Remember, you have lost everything in the crash. Your only resources are the things occurring naturally on the island.

You will need to provide detailed instructions and visuals for a minimum of three things that you think are the most necessary for survival.  Consider what you think would be most important aspects for you to live. To accomplish this, you will need to do research on the internet.  You need to find at least 3 sources.

Use the blank sheet of paper I have given you to create a brochure-like guide. You need a cover with a visual. Your back cover needs to include the web site addresses of the sites you used, the rest should be written instructions and some visuals. Be as creative as possible. 

English 9- Today we reviewed the quiz. If you were absent yesterday, see me ASAP to schedule a date to makeup. We then finished reading The Most Dangerous Game.
